First Album: Foo Fighters
February 29, 2008 - Their debut album was their self-titled album Foo Fighters. Founding member, Dave Grohl, had all of the songs on a mix tape ready to be recorded, but wanted to form a band to help him perform because he didn't want it to be a one man operation. Another band was currently performing in the Seattle area under the name Suny Day Real Estate. Grohl invited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith. Unofficial member of Nirvana, Pat Smear, became the second guitarist adding the last peice of the puzzle. Their first single was released on June 1995, with the album release the next month.
Second Album: The Colour and the Shape
February 29, 2008 - After the band toured during the spring of 1996, they entered into a studio in Seattle to record The Colour and the Shape. Grohl worked on the rough mixes after the tour and decided to rework some of them. Goldsmith decided he wasn't interested in touring with the band, so Grohl recruited Alanis Morissette's touring drummer for the creation of The Colour and the Shape which was released on May 20, 1997.
